The Baldwin Chamber

Welcome to Baldwin, a great place to live and work. Get to know your neighbors by participating in local events. By reaching out and getting involved in one of our many local organizations, like the Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, you will discover small town life at its best.

The Baldwin Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer organization dedicated to the improvement of the business community in Baldwin. We are unique among Chambers because as well as many business members, we count on our resident members to help us promote Baldwin. Our residents know well that a successful business community is an essential part of a strong Baldwin. Whether you own a business or just live in Baldwin, please consider joining us.

What does the Chamber do?

We’re the people who ask you to “Shop Baldwin First.” We are working to attract more business by using a marketing company to promote Baldwin as a location for certain franchises. Through our web site Baldwinchamber.com, we receive and respond to inquiries from potential business owners and residents.

The Chamber hosts four community events each year to promote good will among residents and the business community. Come join the fun at our annual picnic, holiday celebration, pancake breakfast and fall event. See our calendar for details.

The Baldwin Chamber of Commerce has partnered with other local organizations and government to administer various projects like ornamental planters (Town of Hempstead, Beautiful Baldwin Foundation) and decorative hunter green trash containers (“Classy Can Campaign”, Sanitary District 2). These projects are on-going and offer a unique way for area businesses to promote goodwill in the community as well as promote their business.

Through our fundraising efforts, we pay for the landscaping at the Chamber corner near the LIRR Station and the blue banners that decorate our streets. We act as an advocate for Baldwin with the various levels of government on many issues of local concern. In the past, we have advocated for improvements to the LIRR Station and parking lots, facade improvements to storefronts, brick sidewalks and antique style lighting.

We jointly sponsored a professional study of our downtown with the Town of Hempstead so we could plan for the future. (Let us know if you’d like to read a copy.) We work with all our local officials to encourage more improvements for our entire community.
Our monthly meetings, every third Tuesday except in July and August, showcase local restaurants. Join us to network with local business owners, residents and community leaders. Be informed and entertained by our speakers. Visit our web site regularly to learn about how you can get involved. We are always looking to grow our membership with active business and resident volunteers.
